Milestones

Though mostly our stories focus on newborn and early childhood development, we do occasionally get a peak at family life with older children. We have a toddler and a teen who is almost off to college, so I love when we get submissions with older kiddos. Meet Jessica.

As a mom, watching your children achieve milestones is a something to savor. For us, not only did our twins, Carly and Madison, go through the rite of passage of having a b’not mitzvah, but their path in doing so made us even more proud of this achievement! The twins truly embraced their rabbi’s teachings and worked hard to help their fellow man. They worked many hours volunteering at a retirement home, making sure the residents felt involved in the community.

They further volunteered in a social skills group, fostering children with disabilities conversational skills. They worked tirelessly with their peers to open a Manalapan chapter of a special charity that they helped raised over five thousand dollars to help send underprivileged children to summer camp. Having their special moment of becoming a bat mitzvah documented through Veronica’s beautiful photos seemed perfect. Her impeccable photos captured their essence!

I would love for them, and my husband and I, to look back on these photos and recall all their amazing achievements at 13, because we are certain they are destined for more great things!
